Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Xplens ("the Service"), operated by SomlokSolutions LLC, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old (and have a parent or guardian's permission if you are under the age of majority where you live).
2. What Xplens Does
Xplens is a personal and family expense tracker. You upload receipts, invoices and statements; the Service uses AI to extract transaction data and organise it for you. Xplens is not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice.
3. Pilot Status
Xplens is currently an invitation-only pilot. Features may change, be limited or be withdrawn, and the Service may be unavailable from time to time. We will give notice before closing the pilot, and you can export your data at any time.
4. Free Trial and Plans
- New accounts start with a free trial (currently 30 days) that includes a monthly allowance of receipts (currently 20).
- Paid plans with larger allowances are planned. You will not be charged anything unless you actively choose a paid plan and agree to its price; we do not collect payment details during the pilot.
- When a trial ends or an allowance is used up, new uploads may be paused. Your existing data stays available to view and export, and you can delete it at any time.
5. Permitted Use of Uploads
You may only upload documents that relate to financial transactions, such as receipts, invoices, bank and card statements, and transport or hotel bills.
You must not upload:
- Government-issued identity documents (passport, driving licence, national ID, etc.)
- Medical records, prescriptions or health documents
- Documents belonging to another person without their consent
- Offensive, harmful or illegal content, or content that infringes anyone's rights
Files that cannot be read as an expense document are discarded.
6. AI Processing
Uploaded documents are processed by AI (Anthropic Claude) to extract merchant, date, amount, category and similar details. By uploading you consent to this processing as described in the Privacy Policy. AI can make mistakes: always check extracted amounts and dates against the original before relying on them for taxes or accounting.
7. Groups and Sharing
If you create or join a family group, other members of that group can see the group's expenses and receipts. Only invite people you are comfortable sharing that information with. You can leave a group at any time.
8. Your Data and Deletion
You own your data. You can export it as CSV and delete your account and data at any time via Account Deletion (confirmed by an emailed code and completed within 30 days). We keep only what is described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Your Responsibilities
- Keep your sign-in email account secure and do not share access to your account.
- Use the Service lawfully and only for documents you have the right to upload.
- Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or attempt to break into the Service, or access another person's data.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms (in particular the upload rules above) or threatens the security of the Service. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time.
11. Disclaimer and Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy of AI-extracted data. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SomlokSolutions LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss beyond the amount you paid us for the Service in the previous 12 months (which, during the pilot, is zero).
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will notify you by email or in the app; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the revised Terms.
